Consistent Effort with Initial Speed Advantage Michael demonstrated an admirable start by clocking 8:33 for the first mile, securing a pace of 8:33 min/mile and placing 163rd among men and 18th in his division. Maintaining strong placement early on, it's apparent this split set a solid foundation. However, splits revealed a progressive slowing in pace. The second mile was covered in 9:07 min/mile, resulting in a drop in ranking to 209th among men. The third mile saw the most significant decrease in pace at 10:26 min/mile. This ultimately impacted overall placement, as Michael completed the 5K in 29:06 with an average pace of 9:23 min/mile. The third mile is a strategic area for potential improvement. By focusing on maintaining a steady pace and addressing the slow down observed, there would be an opportunity to enhance overall time and maintain or improve ranking in future events.
