Strong Early Pace Gives Way to a Hard-Earned Finish Leanne Weyman completed the marathon in 4:07:16, an average pace of 9:26 per mile. Her race opened briskly: the first six miles clicked by in roughly 7:57 pace each, a sustained stretch that set her well ahead of her eventual finishing rhythm. From there, the pace steadily eased through the middle miles, drifting into the 9:00s by mile 18, before the back half of the course extracted a heavier toll, with miles 19 through 25 slipping into the 10- to 12-minute range. She rallied over the final mile, dropping back to a 10:13 pace to close out the race. Boulders altitude, over 5,000 feet, adds context to that early tempo and the later fade. The marathon course winds out past Boulder Reservoir before returning to finish on the Pearl Street Mall, a fitting downtown capstone to a race that demanded plenty from her legs over the final ten miles.
