Age-Group Champion Delivers a Career-Best Boulder Marathon Kevin Brachle crossed the line in 3:04:47, good for 20th overall and 16th among men in a field of 3,305 and first in the M40-44 division. That's his fastest finish across three Boulderthon marathons, improving on 3:15:27 in 2023 and 3:11:31 in 2025. The race unfolded in two distinct phases: a brisk opening mile at 6:19 settled into a steady rhythm through the middle miles, with splits mostly in the 6:40s and 6:50s from mile 4 to mile 20. Miles 9 through 18 stood out as the most consistent stretch, holding between 6:41 and 7:06 per mile despite Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet. The closing miles eased into the 7:14-7:50 range, a natural fade after a well-controlled effort that still produced his strongest Boulderthon result yet.
