Steady Pacing Delivers a Faster Finish Brooke West completed the marathon in 4:31:41, improving on her previous Boulderthon marathon time of 4:38:08 by more than six minutes. Running as part of the 3,305-runner field, she paced steadily through the race's early and middle miles before a late stretch tested her legs. West's cumulative pace held in the 10:20s per mile through the first ten miles, then sharpened through miles 15-18, where she covered four consecutive miles between 9:42 and 9:57 - her fastest sustained stretch of the day. She eased through miles 21-23, in the 11:14-11:30 range near the lululemon Power-Up Zone at mile 22.5, before closing with a 9:50 final mile back toward the Pearl Street Mall finish in downtown Boulder.
