Steady Pacing Powers a Personal-Best Marathon Finish Kaylee Baca crossed the line in 3:39:45, good for 164th overall and 23rd among women in a field of 3,305, with a third-place finish in the F 20-24 division. That mark tops her previous two Boulderthon marathons, a 3:51:11 finish and a 4:00:51 finish, marking her fastest showing at this race. Baca's pacing stayed remarkably consistent across the marathon, hovering in the 8:20s per mile through the middle miles before tightening late. Her strongest stretch came between miles 10 and 13, where she averaged 8:05 per mile, and she closed with back-to-back sub-8:00 miles in 25 and 26. That kind of finish carries extra weight given Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
