Steady Pacing Powers a Division Win Erin Mcnulty crossed the line in 3:46:16, placing 204th overall and 32nd among women in the field of 3,305, and topped the F40-44 division. Her early miles clicked off in the 8:20s-8:30s, and even as the effort settled into the 8:40s-9:00s through the middle and later miles, she held form well enough to move up the division standings, taking the age-group lead outright by mile 24. The closing mile was Mcnulty's strongest stretch of the day: after a 9:49 split at mile 23, she rebounded to run mile 26 in 8:03, well under her overall pace of 8:38 min/mile, and sealed the division title in style. All of this unfolded at over 5,000 feet of Boulder altitude, before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
