Steady Start Fades Late, But Time Holds Close to Last Year's Pace Andrew De Souza finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:44:32, just over three minutes slower than his 2025 finish of 3:41:30, when he ran 3:41:30 for a faster overall time. He moved up from 233rd to 188th overall this year, and from 195th to 161st among men, showing a stronger field placement despite the slightly slower clock time. De Souza built his race on a strong front half, holding paces between 7:14 and 7:41 per mile through mile 11 his most consistent stretch of the day. The middle miles drifted into the high-7:00s and 8:00s, and the final 10K slowed further, with several miles in the 9:3011:40 range as he neared downtown Boulder. That late fade came around the course's lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, a demanding point for any marathoner finishing at altitude in Boulder.
