Consistent Early Pace Carries a Solid Finish Paul Brushwood finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:40:49, placing 167th overall and 143rd among men out of the field of 3,305. That's just 1:32 slower than his 3:39:17 finish at the same race last year, a nearly identical performance a year later. Brushwood ran the first nine miles in the 7:578:15 range, holding an elapsed pace near 8:06 through the midpoint of the course. That opening stretch proved his fastest sustained running of the day. The back half brought a gradual fade, with mile splits settling into the high-8:00s and low-9:00s from mile 19 onward, including the stretch through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5. Even with that late softening, his overall pace held together well for a race run at altitude in Boulder's thin air above 5,000 feet.
