Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Sebastian Carrasco #10703 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Strong Front Half Fades Late as Marathon Pace Slips Sebastian Carrasco finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:22:02, placing 59th overall and 51st among men. That's a step back from his 2:57:45 finish at the same event last year, when he placed 28th overall. Through the first 13 miles this time, Carrasco was moving at a strong 6:33 min/mile pace, highlighted by a swift opening mile of 6:03. From mile 14 to the finish, his pace settled into the 8:43 min/mile range, a clear shift from the early rhythm he established downtown. Carrasco's opening 13 miles were his standout stretch of the day, built on a string of sub-6:30 miles that carried him near the front of his division early on. Boulder's altitude, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds weight to that early pace before the second half settled into a steadier cruise toward the Pearl Street Mall finish.
