Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kimberly Gudenkauf #10246 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Steady Pacing Through 21 Miles Fuels a Top-10% Finish Kimberly Gudenkauf crossed in 3:52:34, placing 279th overall and 54th among women out of the field of 3,305, with a first-place age-group finish in the 55-59 division. That mirrors her 3:52:15 from the previous year's race, but this time she moved up from 355th overall and 64th among women, a notable jump in the standings on a nearly identical clock time. Her pacing held remarkably even from mile 1 through mile 21, hovering in the 8:20s-8:40s, with a strong mile 11 split of 7:53. The final miles told a different story: pace eased into the 9:20s by mile 23, then further to an 11:44 split at mile 24, before recovering slightly to close out the marathon. That stretch lines up with the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, a fitting spot to draw on for the final push to the Pearl Street Mall finish at altitude.
