Steady Early Pace Anchors a Strong Marathon Finish Barrett White completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:36:34, an elapsed pace of 10:33 per mile. White ran his early miles briskly, clicking off the first 10 miles between 9:11 and 9:49 pace, with mile 6 as his fastest stretch at 9:11. That effort held remarkably steady through the half, with cumulative pace still near 9:30 at mile 13. The back half gradually eased, settling into the 11-12 minute range by mile 20 and into the 12-13 minute range through the final 10K, a common shape for the marathon distance. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the early miles stand out as a well-managed opening effort. Runners passed near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 22.5 before closing out on the Pearl Street Mall.
