A Four-Minute Leap Forward Matt Lowe crossed the half marathon finish in 1:50:28, nearly four minutes faster than his 1:54:33 at the previous Boulderthon. His cumulative pace tightened steadily through the race, sitting at 7:52 per mile through two miles before settling into the 8:078:26 range for the bulk of the course, finishing with an overall pace of 8:26 per mile. His standout stretch came immediately: a 7:38 opening mile, his fastest of the day and well under his final average pace. He carried that effort through the rolling middle miles, passing near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 9.5 as he worked through the thinner air of Boulder's 5,000-plus-foot elevation before closing out on the Pearl Street Mall.
