Fast Start Fuels a Strong Marathon Finish Suresh Gummadi completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:18:08, an average pace of 9:51 per mile. He opened with a swift first mile in 7:51, and held sub-8:00 pace through mile 6, reaching the 10K mark in 48:10. That early speed set up steady work through the middle miles, with his cumulative pace staying under 9:00/mile all the way to mile 19. His strongest sustained stretch came early: miles 1 through 6 averaged right around 8:00 per mile, well ahead of his eventual overall pace. The final 10K, run at altitude above 5,000 feet in downtown Boulder, saw the pace ease as fatigue set in, before he closed strong with a 10:55 26th mile to cross the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
