Strong Early Pace Fuels Top-10% Marathon Finish Luke Evashevski, 20, of Denver finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:42:03, placing 173rd overall and 148th among men out of the field of 3,305 a top 10% overall finish. Evashevski ran the first 18 miles at a steady 7:59 pace per mile, holding between 7:49 and 8:29 for nearly every split in that stretch. The pace eased over the final third of the race, settling into the 9:0010:30 range as fatigue set in through the closing miles. That early consistency carried him deep into the course before the pace shifted, a race shape built on a patient, well-controlled start. The marathon course winds out past the Boulder Reservoir before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall, all run at over 5,000 feet of elevation in downtown Boulder.
