Consistent Pacing Delivers a Higher Finish Ben Mcdermott crossed in 3:44:44, essentially matching his 3:44:35 from last year, yet moved up to 191st overall and 164th among men inside the top 10% of the field. His mile splits held close to 8:208:40 for most of the distance, with only a brief fade through miles 2224 before he closed strong. The best stretch came from miles 17 through 21, averaging roughly 8:15 per mile as he worked back toward downtown Boulder. He finished on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a fitting close at over 5,000 feet of altitude.
