Strong Early Pace Gives Way to a Tough Back Half Micah Friedman finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:40:11, an average pace of 10:41 per mile over the 26.2-mile course through Boulder. Friedman's race was defined by a fast, controlled start: through the first 12 miles he held a steady clip near 9:00 per mile, one of the strongest stretches of his day. From there the pace gradually eased, and the effort caught up with him in the second half, with miles 17 through 23 slipping into the 11:0016:00 range, including the stretch that carried him past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Friedman rallied in the closing mile before crossing the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
