Steady Pacing Powers a Strong Marathon Finish Cody Blazek finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:34:17, an 8:10 min/mile pace that placed him 128th overall and 112th among men out of the field of 3,305. His race built steadily, holding right around 8:00 min/mile through the middle miles before a strong stretch from mile 6 to mile 11, where he clicked off splits as low as 7:15 and 7:17, tightening his overall pace to under 7:50. Two brief slowdownsnear mile 18 and again in the final milenudged his cumulative pace slightly, but he still closed with control, finishing at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet. Given the strength of his midrace surge, a touch more even pacing late could help him carry that same rhythm all the way to the Pearl Street Mall finish next time.
