Steady Pacing Powers a Strong Marathon Finish David Arras completed the marathon in 3:58:00, averaging 9:05 per mile. His pacing showed remarkable consistency, rarely drifting outside a 9:009:10 mile pace across the full 26.2 miles. A standout stretch came between miles 15 and 18, where he clicked off 8:48, 9:06, 8:44, and 9:02 his quickest sustained running of the day before settling back into rhythm for the remaining miles and closing with a steady final mile at 9:05 pace. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, David maintained composure through Boulder Countys backroads before making his way toward the historic Pearl Street Mall for the finish. The evenness of his effort holding within roughly 20 seconds per mile of his overall pace for the majority of the race reflects strong pacing discipline over a long, demanding distance.
