Fast Start Carries Through a Tempered Back Half Cameron Straw finished the Boulderthon Marathon in 4:10:00. His race was built on an efficient opening stretch, with miles 1 through 7 covering 7 miles in 57:29 an 8:12 per-mile average, the fastest sustained running of his day. Pace held near 8:20-8:40 through mile 15 before easing through the high 9,000-foot Boulder altitude backroads, with miles 16 through 25 settling into the 9:59-12:09 range as cumulative pace drifted from 8:35 to 9:34 per mile. He passed near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 22.5 during that stretch, then closed with a 9:16 split over the final mile, pulling his overall pace back down to 9:33 per mile at the line a solid rebound to finish out the marathon.
