Steady Start Gives Way to a Hard-Earned Finish April Markowski completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 5:15:46. She opened with her strongest stretch of the race across miles 1 through 4, holding a 9:41 min/mile pace before the effort gradually eased, climbing past 11:00 min/mile by mile 18 and into the 14:00s through the low-20s miles. She closed with a final mile at 12:35, pulling her overall pace back down after the toughest section of the course. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, offers useful context for that pacing arc. Her slowest mile came at mile 23, just past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, before she rallied over the final three miles into the Pearl Street Mall finish. Given the even effort through the race's first half, targeting a more gradual fade over the back miles could be a worthwhile focus for her next marathon build.
