Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ellison Ma #12481 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Fast Start, Steady Fade to the Mall Ellison finished the marathon in 4:11:19, an overall pace of 9:35 per mile. His only previous Boulderthon appearance, the 2025 half marathon in 1:30:08 (6:52 pace), was a far more even effort than this one, where an aggressive opening gave way to a long, gradual slowdown. Through mile 9 his cumulative pace sat under 7:15 per mile; by mile 20 it had drifted past 9:20, settling at 9:35 by the finish. His standout stretch came in those opening miles miles 1 through 9 held a sub-7:15 cumulative pace, enough to lead the men's 35-39 division at that point. He covered the newly redesigned 2026 course, which cut the marathon's net elevation gain by roughly 40 percent to 603 feet, while still contending with Boulder's mile-high altitude before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall.
