Massive Improvement Fuels Top Finish Owen Sedej ran 3:22:01 at the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon, placing 58th overall and 50th among men in a field of 3,305. This marks a dramatic leap from his 2025 finish of 5:30:50, cutting more than two hours off his time. Sedej's race unfolded in two distinct halves: a strong, controlled first 12 miles averaging around 7:20 per mile, followed by a gradual fade over the back half as the elapsed pace slipped to 7:42 by the finish. His standout stretch came between miles 11 and 12, where he clicked off splits of 6:52 and 6:56 his fastest sustained running of the day. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, holding that kind of pace at altitude speaks well of his fitness. A touch more evenness in the final 10K could help him close even stronger next time.
