Strong Early Pace Fades Late Despite Mid-Race Rally Geoffrey Kim finished the marathon in 3:58:16, placing 352nd overall out of the field of 3,305 and 279th among men. That result trails his 2025 Boulderthon marathon time of 3:49:22, when he finished 313th overall. Kim opened briskly, holding sub-8:35 pace through the first eight miles before a rough patch around miles 9-10 slowed his cumulative pace to 9:07. He answered with his best stretch of the race from miles 11 through 13, covering that 3-mile span in 22:37, a 7:32/mile average, pulling his cumulative pace back toward 8:45. The final miles cooled again, with splits drifting past 10:00/mile through the 22-24 mile range - near where Boulder's Power-Up Zone sits at mile 22.5 - before closing out on the Pearl Street Mall at over 5,000 feet of altitude.
