Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jose Oscar Segura Saldana #10692 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Strong Early Pace Holds Through Two-Thirds of the Marathon Jose Oscar Segura Saldana finished the marathon in 3:33:45, placing 125th overall and 109th among men out of the field of 3,305. His race split cleanly into two halves: a steady, well-controlled first 17 miles averaging around 7:20 per mile, followed by a tougher back stretch where pace eased into the 8:0011:00 range before tightening again over the final two miles to 8:05 and 8:09. The standout stretch came early miles 1 through 5, covered in a combined 36:17, an average of roughly 7:15 per mile, the fastest sustained running of his day. That composure built a cushion that carried him through the marathon's demanding closing miles near Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, before he crossed the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
