Steady Pacing Carries Sam Sliney to a Strong Marathon Finish Sam Sliney finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:50:40, placing 247th overall and 202nd among men out of the field of 3,305. His race showed remarkable consistency through the first two-thirds of the course, holding an 8:38-8:44 elapsed pace from mile 10 through mile 21, with mile 11 standing out as his fastest full mile at 8:06. That steadiness allowed him to move up significantly in the standings during the second half before the final six miles brought a natural settling of pace, closing in the 9:10-10:17 range as he approached the finish.
