Steady Early Miles Fade Into a Long Second Half Trenton Mccarver finished the 2026 Boulderthon marathon in 5:18:24, well off the 4:09:56 he ran at last year's Boulderthon. His cumulative pace held near 10:20 min/mile through the race's first third before easing steadily through the middle and closing miles, settling at a 12:09 min/mile overall pace by the finish. His strongest stretch came in the opening 11 miles, where mile splits stayed tight between 9:54 and 10:39, building a cumulative pace of 10:20 min/mile through that point before the effort gradually loosened over the remaining distance. That early rhythm came at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, a backdrop that shaped the whole run from downtown Boulder through the county roads and back to the Pearl Street Mall finish.
