Strong Early Pace Fades Late in Marathon Debut Aidan Waldron completed the marathon in 4:03:41, holding close to 7:40 per mile through the first 11 miles before gradually slowing over the second half. His pace held under 8:00 per mile through mile 17, then eased through the 1823 mile stretch before a sharper drop in the final miles, closing near 9:19 per mile overall. Waldron's opening 11 miles were the strongest stretch of his race, consistently sitting near 7:407:45 per mile before the effort began to even out. That opening effort came at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, before the course carried him out past Boulder Reservoir and back to a finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
