Steady Early Pace Fuels Strong Finish Despite Late Fade Steve Hagenlock crossed the line in 3:53:27, placing 288th overall and 228th among men in the field of 3,305 and 2nd in the M55-59 division. The result sits between his two previous Boulderthon marathons, faster than his 4:03:45 in 2024 but off his 2025 best of 3:44:54. Hagenlock ran his first 17 miles with notable consistency, holding an elapsed pace between 7:53 and 8:21 per mile, with miles 1-2 standing out as his fastest full-mile stretch at roughly 7:54 per mile. The pace eased over the back half, settling into the 9:30-11:00 per mile range from mile 18 onward, before a solid final mile brought him home. Running at altitude in Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet, Hagenlock closed his race on the historic Pearl Street Mall.
