Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Adin Turetsky #11052 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Steady Early Pace Gives Way to a Hard-Fought Finish Adin Turetsky covered the marathon in 4:32:58, holding a strong rhythm through the opening half before the back stretch tested him. His quickest sustained running came from miles 4 through 6, where he clicked off 8:50, 8:58, and 8:51 splits, pushing his cumulative pace down to 9:06 min/mile his fastest point in the race. Splits stayed in the 9:009:50 range through mile 14, then gradually loosened, with mile 21 slowing to 13:32 as cumulative pace climbed past 10:00 min/mile. He steadied in the closing miles, trimming the final mile to 10:53. Boulder's elevation, over 5,000 feet, adds a layer of difficulty to sustaining early pace deep into a marathon. Turetsky's ability to hold sub-9:20 pacing for the first two-thirds of the race speaks to a well-managed opening effort before the late fade at altitude.
