Third Straight Boulderthon Marathon PR Caps a Steady Climb Griffin Keown finished the marathon in 3:30:46, placing 116th overall and 103rd among men in the field. That continues a three-year drop at this race: 3:58:21 in 2024, then 3:33:11 in 2025, and now his fastest yet. Splits show a controlled opening mile near 7:56 before settling into a rhythm between 7:45 and 7:55 through mile 20, a stretch that held remarkably even for nearly ten miles before pace eased over the closing miles, dipping into the 8:40s-10:50s range before a strong final mile at 7:30. That mid-race stretch from roughly mile 11 to mile 20 stands out as the strongest of the day, holding sub-7:50 pace consistently at an elevation over 5,000 feet. Given the steady late-race fade, building a touch more durability for the final 10K could help close out future marathons with the same strength shown early.
