After an opening mile of 7:47, she settled into a steady rhythm through the middle miles, holding between 6:46 and 7:27 pace, before closing with her fastest full mile of the race a 6:35 split at mile 12 and finishing with a 6:50 final mile. Her cumulative pace tightened steadily across the race, dropping from 7:47 at the first mile to 7:04 by the finish, reflecting a negative-split effort. That closing surge came in the stretch before the historic Pearl Street Mall finish, at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Boulder.
