Steady Through Halfway, Gritty Down the Stretch Jonquil Loeffelholz completed the marathon in 4:19:11, averaging 9:53 min/mile. She ran a tightly controlled front half, holding between 9:00 and 9:20 min/mile through mile 17 rarely drifting more than a few seconds off that pace. The middle miles brought a rougher patch, with mile 21 slowing to 13:14 min/mile, before she found her footing again, cutting her final mile to 10:24 min/mile for a strong close. Her quickest mile came at mile 10, run in 8:29 min/mile, the fastest of the day and part of a smooth 911 mile stretch. That tough middle section lined up with the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, where her pace read 12:04 min/mile before she began rebuilding through the final miles. All of it played out at Boulders altitude above 5,000 feet, a steady test from start to the Pearl Street Mall finish.
