Strong Start Fuels a Season-Best Marathon Finish Hunter Hatten crossed the line in 4:28:34, improving on his 2025 Boulderthon marathon time of 4:39:03 by nearly 10:30. That gain came despite a demanding second half, as his early pace proved far faster than what he could sustain to the finish. Hatten opened with five miles between 7:40 and 7:55 per mile, holding a sub-8:00 elapsed pace through mile 10 his strongest stretch of the day. From mile 12 onward the pace eased steadily, settling into the 11:00-13:00 range through the closing miles as cumulative pace drifted from 8:06 to 10:15 by the finish. That fade came on a marathon course that in 2026 cut net elevation gain by roughly 40 percent, from 982 to 603 feet, in a city that itself sits above 5,000 feet.
