Fast Start Fuels a Strong Overall Finish Ian Rappaport crossed the line in 3:54:00, an 8:55/mile pace that placed him 290th overall and 230th among men in a field of 3,305 at the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon. The opening five miles were the highlight, clicking off in the 6:426:57/mile range and building an early cushion. From there, mile splits eased steadily through the middle miles, moving into the 7:20s9:20s by mile 17, then slowing further through miles 1821 as the cumulative pace climbed past 8:30/mile. The stretch coincided with the course's push out past Boulder Reservoir, run at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Miles 2226 saw a partial rebound, with splits tightening back into the 9:0011:00 range as Rappaport worked toward the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
