Strong Middle Miles Power a Steady Marathon Finish Collin Landwehr completed the marathon in 4:12:48, an overall pace of 9:38 per mile. Elapsed pace dropped steadily through the opening third, tightening from 10:00 at mile 1 to 9:21 by mile 18, before the closing miles added time as the pace eased back toward 9:39 by the finish. The strongest stretch came from miles 14 through 18, where Landwehr covered that span at an elapsed pace between 9:30 and 9:21, highlighted by a mile 17 split of 8:31 his fastest of the race. That surge pulled his overall pace down from 9:30 to 9:21 across just four miles, the clearest sign of sustained strength on the course. The final 10K, run through downtown Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, saw splits loosen into the 10:1511:07 range, yet the earlier gains held enough to keep his overall time under 4:13.
