Strong Start Gives Way to a Tougher Back Half Arun Mcsweeney completed the marathon in 4:35:26, an overall pace of 10:30 per mile. He was remarkably consistent through the first ten miles, holding between 9:17 and 9:56 per mile for his most even stretch of the race. From there the pace eased steadily, drifting into the 10:0011:00 range by mile 20, then slowing further through miles 2123, where splits ran 12:3113:22, before he picked things back up to close with an 11:21 final mile. He moved through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 during that slower middle-to-late stretch, before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder a city that sits over 5,000 feet in elevation.
