Strong Middle Miles Power a Determined Finish Luca Genovese completed the Boulderthon Marathon in 3:59:27, an overall pace of 9:08 per mile. He opened around 9:00 per mile through the first six miles, then found his rhythm, dropping into the high 8:40s and even faster through the middle of the race. Miles 12 through 18 were especially consistent, hovering near 8:50 per mile. The back third brought a natural slowdown into the 9:3010:30 range, but Genovese closed strong, picking the pace back up to 8:43 for this final full mile. His best mile came at mile 11, clocked in 7:52, the fastest stretch of his race. That surge came just before the course carried runners past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, where his pace had eased to the low 10:00s as fatigue set in at altitudeBoulder sits over 5,000 feet above sea level.
