Strong Early Pace Fades Late in Marathon Debut Jc Delarosa completed the marathon in 5:11:32, an average pace of 11:53 per mile. The race started briskly, with the opening 5 miles clicking off between 9:50 and 10:57 per mile. Miles 6 through 12 stood out as the strongest stretch, holding a sub-10:00 pace across those seven miles despite Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet. From there, the pace gradually eased through the midpoint, then slowed more noticeably from mile 19 onward, with the final six miles settling into the 14:0016:00 per mile range before a stronger push to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
