Steady Pacing Fuels a Podium-Range Finish Shane Foley finished the marathon in 3:14:33 (7:25/mile), placing 35th overall and 29th among men in a field of 3,305, good enough for third in the men's 35-39 division. After a quick opening mile of 7:08, Foley settled into a remarkably consistent rhythm, holding between 7:04 and 7:23 per mile from mile 10 through mile 18 nine miles run almost on autopilot. Pace drifted toward 8:00/mile through miles 19-23, including the stretch past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, before he answered with a 7:14 mile 25, closing strong across the finish on the Pearl Street Mall at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
