Strong Front Half Gives Way Late as Marathon Time Slips From 2023 Pace Blake Kokes finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:52:15, placing 276th overall and 224th among men. That mark is well off his 2023 Boulderthon result of 3:00:35, when he ran 17th overall and won his age division. Kokes built his race on a steady middle stretch, holding between 7:25 and 8:03 per mile from mile 2 through mile 18, settling his cumulative pace near 7:36-7:41 min/mile for that entire span. From mile 19 onward, per-mile splits climbed into the 9-13 minute range before a modest rebound over the final mile. That early consistency, at over 5,000 feet of altitude, set up a race that faded in its closing 8 miles but still carried him to a finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
