Strong Start Gives Way to a Hard-Earned Finish Logan Kittler completed the marathon in 4:39:04. He moved through the opening 10 miles in even splits around 8:30 per mile, then eased through the middle miles into the 9:00s and 10:00s before the pace loosened further over the closing 10K, finishing with a cumulative pace of 10:39 per mile. The first 10 miles stood out as the strongest stretch of the day, holding between 8:17 and 8:58 per mile with no lost ground. That effort came at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, an added factor for any distance runner tackling 26.2 miles there. Kittler crossed the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder to close out the effort.
