Strong Start Fuels a Top-5% Marathon Finish Justin Williamson crossed the line in 3:38:09, placing 152nd overall and 130th among men in the field of 3,305a finish inside the top 5 percent of runners at this year's Boulderthon Marathon. Williamson's opening six miles were the highlight, clicking off a steady 7:147:20 per-mile pace that put him among the race's faster movers early on. From there, his pace eased gradually through the middle miles before slowing more noticeably in the back third, with splits stretching into the 9:0010:50 range between miles 19 and 25. He closed with a final mile back down to 9:27, salvaging some rhythm before the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, the early pace and overall result reflect solid strength at altitude. Maintaining more of that early rhythm into the second half could be a worthwhile focus for future races.
