Strong Front Half Fuels a Steady Marathon Finish Joshua Perez finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:05:47, a 9:22 min/mile average pace, out of a field of 3,305. He built his race on a controlled early tempo, clicking off miles between 7:58 and 8:24 through the first half, then held that rhythm never straying far from 8:20 pace all the way to mile 17 before the effort naturally eased over the closing miles. His best sustained stretch came from mile 1 to mile 17, covered in 2:22:27, an 8:22 min/mile pace across that span. That effort held up well given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet. The pace loosened near mile 22, close to where the lululemon Power-Up Zone sits at mile 22.5, as the 2026 course's redesigned final miles carried him to the Pearl Street Mall finish.
