Steady Midrace Rhythm Fuels the Finish Breck Nagy finished in 4:08:59, averaging 9:30 per mile across the 26.2-mile distance. After an active opening stretch, she settled into a strong rhythm from mile 6 through mile 18, holding between 9:03 and 9:15 per mile for a 12-mile stretch that anchored the heart of her race. Pace eased through the closing miles as cumulative effort built, finishing with a final mile pace of 9:30 a small adjustment to pacing late could help her carry that mid-race rhythm all the way to the mall next time. The marathon course runs out past Boulder Reservoir and along Boulder County backroads before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall, all at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Her mile 22 split, near the lululemon Power-Up Zone at mile 22.5, marked one of the more demanding stretches of her race before she found another gear over the final miles.
