Steady Start Fuels a Strong Marathon Finish on Pearl Street Thomas Lugo completed the marathon in 4:04:48, averaging 9:20 per mile. Lugo's race showed a clear two-part shape: a controlled, even opening followed by a natural fade over the closing miles. His first six miles were the highlight of the day, clicking off in roughly 8:20-8:23 pace through the 50:23 mark - the most consistent stretch of his race. From there, per-mile splits gradually eased into the 8:40s and 9:00s before the final 10K, where pace slipped into the 10- and 11-minute range through miles 20-25. He rallied for a 9:13 closing mile, finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting cap to a well-paced early effort at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
