Strong Front Half Fades Late but Finishes Steady Jack Urosevich completed the Boulderthon Marathon in 4:13:38. He ran the first 13 miles in 1:55:21, holding between 8:47 and 9:14 per mile, before the back half slowed to a 2:18:17 split, with miles 21-24 stretching past 11:00 pace. He closed with a solid final mile at 9:37. Miles 11 through 13 were his best sustained stretch, covering that span in roughly 26 minutes with a 7:59 mile 13 mixed in his fastest full mile of the race. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, on a marathon course with a redesigned profile cutting net elevation gain to 603 feet, Urosevich's disciplined opening pace set up a respectable overall time despite the late fade.
