Strong Middle Miles Power a Steady Marathon Finish Sergio Garcia completed the Boulderthon Marathon in 4:36:34, an overall pace of 10:33 per mile, in the 45-49 age group. The race's clearest strength came from roughly mile 5 through mile 17, where Garcia settled into a rhythm between 8:26 and 8:44 per mile for nearly a dozen consecutive miles the most consistent stretch of his race. Pace eased gradually in the second half, with the final miles into downtown Boulder settling into the mid-to-high teens per mile before he crossed the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, holding that early-to-mid race rhythm stands out as the day's highlight.
