Fast Start Carries Her to a Top-10% Finish Sydney Edwards completed the Boulderthon Marathon in 3:51:31, placing 264th overall out of the field and 48th among women. Her opening four miles were the strongest stretch of the day, clicking off in 8:24, 8:06, 8:07, and 8:03 to build an early cushion. Cumulative pace held remarkably steady through the middle miles, drifting only gradually from 8:13 at mile 6 to 8:37 by mile 19. The tougher stretch came from miles 21 through 24, where per-mile splits slid to 9:45, 9:25, 10:23, and 10:25 as fatigue set in. She responded well in the closing miles, dropping back to 9:06 and then 8:11 for mile 26 before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder a strong close given Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
