Steady Front Half Gives Way to a Tougher Closing Stretch Adrian Jauregui finished the marathon in 4:03:50, an overall pace of 9:18 per mile. Through the first 12 miles he was locked into a strong, even rhythm, reaching the marker in 1:42:51 for a cumulative pace of 8:34 per mile his best sustained running of the day. From there the pace eased gradually, drifting into the high 8:40s by mile 18, before the final third of the race brought a clear slowdown, with several late miles settling above 10:30 per mile on the way to the finish. Jauregui's marathon carried him through Boulder County backroads before finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a course run at over 5,000 feet of elevation a demanding backdrop for the strong opening pace he built through the race's first half.
