Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Jason Schillinger #10136 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Even Early Miles Give Way to a Tough Back Half Jason Schillinger completed the marathon in 4:00:49. He built a strong foundation through the first 18 miles, holding a tight band between 8:12 and 8:52 per mile and clicking off his fastest mile of the day, a 7:29, at mile 11. That effort carried his cumulative pace under 8:30/mile deep into the race. From mile 19 on, the pace eased steadily, with miles 21-24 slipping into the 10:23-13:00 range before he steadied things over the final two miles, closing in 11:28 and 10:53. That late stretch included the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, where his mile split had climbed to 11:29 as fatigue set in. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the sustained sub-8:30 effort through the race's first two-thirds stands as the clear highlight of the day.
